Hi Startups Community!! Adam here from the Atlassian for Startups team ๐
In our latest episode of Startup Stories with Atlassian, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Sharun Kanan, Co-Founder of Ctruh, for a conversation about building the future of 3D immersive content with Atlassian for Startups. If you've ever wondered how to scale cutting-edge deep tech while maintaining startup agility and enterprise-grade discipline, this interview is a fantastic watch!
Fun fact: back in November we hosted the Ctruh team in person in Bengaluru, India ๐ฎ๐ณ at our Accel + Atlassian Founder Connect event in Bengaluru. Thank you Vinay Agastya, for joining Philip Braddock on the panel to share your startup journey with Atlassian for Startups and Accel.
The Ctruh Journey
Since launching in early 2023, Ctruh has been on a mission to democratize 3D immersive content creation. As Sharun puts it: "What Canva did for 2D content, we're trying to do for 3D immersive content." They've built a proprietary 3D engine that transforms what's traditionally been a services-heavy, time-intensive process into a productized, accessible platform.
Scaling Innovation Without Losing Control
Like many early-stage startups, Ctruh faced the classic growing pains: scattered communication across business functions, inefficient handoffs leading to repeated work, and no central knowledge base for teams. For a company working across complex domains like 3D visualization, UI/UX, and AI, this fragmentation was a serious bottleneck.
Enter Atlassian for Startups
This is where the Atlassian for Startups program became a game-changer. As Sharun shared: "The program helped us set up proper processes early โ across engineering, product, and client delivery โ without compromising because of budgets." The team was tired of โwasting time, effort, and money stitching tools together, [with Atlassian] everything comes [together] in one place.โ
A Message for VCs and Founders
One of my favorite insights from our conversation was Sharun's perspective on the partnerships between Atlassian for Startups and VCs. While VCs provide capital, mentorship, and strategic guidance, the Atlassian for Startups program provides the operational backbone of their AI-powered teamwork. Early adoption of Atlassian apps not only lays a scalable foundation, but also boosts investor confidence!
