when i try to login to rovo dev on vscode i got this 

Failed to retrieve site information. Please check your connection and try again.

The error “Failed to retrieve site information. Please check your connection and try again.” while logging into Rovo Dev in VS Code usually means the extension is unable to connect to your Atlassian Cloud site — not necessarily a simple internet issue.

The troubleshooting approach you can try:

1. Check Basic Connectivity

Ensure your internet connection is stable.

Try opening your Atlassian site directly in a browser:

👉 https://your-site.atlassian.net

If it doesn’t load, the issue is network-related.

 

2. Corporate Network / VPN / Firewall

If you're on:

Company Wi-Fi

VPN

Behind a firewall

Your network may be blocking Atlassian APIs.

 

3. Confirm You Have Access to Rovo

Atlassian Rovo access depends on:

Your Atlassian plan

Admin enabling Rovo

Your user being assigned access

 

4. Logout & Re-authenticate

In VS Code:

Open Command Palette → Atlassian: Sign out

Close VS Code completely

Reopen VS Code

Try signing in again

 

5. Update / Reinstall Extension

Update VS Code to latest version

Update Atlassian/Rovo extension

If still failing:

Uninstall extension

Restart VS Code

Install again

 

6. Clear VS Code Authentication Cache

 

7. Check Atlassian Status Page
