The web search button has been available to us for a while now, but I still can't figure out if/how it works.
Does is actually search the web? Does it only search connected websites (through Rovo connectors)?
Tried different prompts but not got a good answer nor a Web page as source once. Also, couldn't find any info on it in official documentation. Maybe I am missing something here...
Hey @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ — the Search button doesn’t do full web searches like Google or Bing. It pulls from connected knowledge sources (like Confluence, connected sites, or added documents). If no source is connected or indexed, you’ll get weak or no results. For true external search, you’d need something like Deep Research with a supported connector, but even that has limits. Still no official documentation clarifying it, though you’re definitely not the only one asking!
@Dr Valeri Colon (Connect Centric) They actually rolled back that specific button after a short while and have now re-introduced it. Now it's called "Web search" but I feel like it still doesn't do what I'd expect it to do.
