Rovo data residency

Hi

I need some information for our Gvt Assurers about where the data is handled for Rovo, within our Jira Premium org.

can you help with that?  It is at all possible that we could set up a call with the tech team for them to ask questions?

Really want to get Rovo enabled and we can't until this bit is done.  Thanks!

Hi @James_Noble

What are your questions?

Or you need to contact Atlassian Sales.

More on Rovo, can be found here; rovo-data-privacy-and-usage-guidelines

Here in community, most of us are Atlassian users like yourself, not (necessarily) employees of Atlassian.

1. we have pinned our data to UK - will Rovo respect that?

2. which LLMs might Rovo use and are they also uk based?

3. does Rovo respect RBAC within the app - if I am not allowed to see a space, will it keep its answer free of data from there?

thank you so much in advance.

I have pinged support but I think their answer will be a link which to be honest I have already trawled ... ;)

HI @James_Noble

  1. Yes, it will, understand-data-residency
  2. Rovo only uses Data from the apps in Jira, LLM usage can be fond here; Rovo hybrid-llm
  3. Yes, Rovo respects a users permission in the Atlassian toolset or other apps if connected based on the same user accessing.

I'd like to try and clarify some of these answers

1. All Teamwork Graph Data (which is In-App data and its connections) respect the Data residency settings, so yes

2. LLMs vary, check List of Data Subprocessors | Atlassian for the full list. Most LLMs are hosted in the US! So no, they are not UK based and Data in transit/process will leave the UK. LLMs do not store data though.

3. Yes, Rovo respects all user permissions
