I'm attempting to add a Rovo agent created by another user to our help center, but am being told that I do not have permission to administer the help center despite having the Site Admin role in JSM.  Unless I'm missing something, I've not been able to find anything in the JSM documentation that discusses ways to manage admin permissions for a help center, and the help center settings itself are very bare bones and only show me Details, Spaces, and Landing Pages.

Welcome to the community @Chris_Payne! If the account is a Site Admin and has Admin or Collaborator access to the agent, then it should be able to add the agent to the help center. Since assigning Org Admin didn't resolve it, this may be a permissions sync issue or a backend defect. I'd recommend opening an Atlassian Support ticket so they can verify the account entitlements and help center permissions on the backend.

Hello @Chris_Payne

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

According to this article:

Add a Rovo agent to the help center

To add a Rovo agent to a Jira Service Management help center, make sure you:

  • are a Site admin for that Jira Service Management site

  • are an Admin or Collaborator for that Rovo agent

Note that one is not a site admin for the JSM application. Site Admin is a role set through the Administration Hub and applies to the Site, not to individual applications.

Hi Trudy,

Thank you for your response. I have verified that the service account I'm using to add the Rovo agent had the Site Admin role. Assigning the Organization Admin role does not seem to have helped either.

You said you are using a service account to try to add the agent. How are you using a service account to add the agent? Are you logged in as the service account instead of as your own user?

Is the service account both

  • granted the Site Admin role for the Site,
  • AND  granted the Admin or Collaborator permissions for the agent you are trying to add?
