I'm using the Atlassian MCP connector with Claude, and I want to it to be able to push internal notes into an issue, i.e. jsdPublic: false. I understand this is not supported at the moment, correct? When will it be supported? In the meantime, What's recommended to do?
@Mikael Duong welcome to the community. Atlassian MCP currently appears to use the standard Jira comment API, which doesn’t create true JSM internal notes. Internal notes require the JSM Service Desk API with public: false. Until MCP supports that parameter/endpoint, the safer workaround is to have Claude draft the note, then post it manually or through JSM REST/API automation. No public ETA found.
Just tried it in Claude and it does seem like it's not supported currently. In terms of what to do in the meantime can you share what the scenario or use case you had planned with Claude and internal notes? Then maybe the community can see if there are any alternatives
