We have a requirement to onboard external users to Atlassian while ensuring they authenticate using our company SSO and MFA.
Please confirm whether any of the following options would be feasible:
Is it possible to disable the invitation process for external users and directly create them as active users, or have an internal workflow that activates them automatically?
Can we use an alternative email attribute for sending invitations?
Can we bypass domain verification for external users while still enabling and enforcing company‑domain SSO and MFA for their access?
HI @manoj test bobba ,
1. Yes. You can disable invitation and add them as users...if they have an Atlassian account online. You can't create users you don't own the domain to. Therefore, it kind of goes hand in hand. You invite them so they would create an account and then they are added to your instance.
2. No. Email is the unique identifier.
3. Domain verification is not neccessary for external users. It's for domains your company owns. You can have a separate authentication policy for your external users that users alternative methods for access.
Hope this helps
