Many of our systems currently post alerts to Slack. We got OpsGenie because it has a bi-directional Slack integration, and we were hoping to use it to improve our response rate to these Slack messages.
Now that I have it set up, I can not figure out how to create an Alert if, for example, in the Slack channel #system-status, there is a message saying something like "Warning: Flux capacitor down."
Did I misunderstand what OpsGenie offers, and it only provides the "/genie" command from Slack to OpsGenie or Is there a way to trigger alerts based on the messages sent to Slack channels?
Paul
I created a support ticket for this and Atlassian confirmed this is impossible.
As an alternative, I am planning to write a small Python application that subscribes to Slack channels and then calls the OpsGenie Rest API to trigger alerts.
