Opsgenie migration with call forwarding

briffle March 31, 2025

Looking over the Migration documents, I see that if we move to Jira Service Desk Premium, we can have a call-in number with Trello integration.

We currently have the integration for a call in number in opsgenie, that is routed to our on-call person.  if we migrate, does it migrate those settings as well?

Or am I going to have to get a new call in number, and retrain all our staff and clients to use the new number?

hi @briffle

JSM does support the incoming call integration as part of Jira operations, but it is with Twilio provided numbers. We do have a document on how you can port the number from our Twilio account into your own though so that you are able to keep the same numbers if desired:

https://support.atlassian.com/opsgenie/docs/how-to-switch-opsgenie-phone-numbers-to-twilio/

Any further questions or concerns or assistance with the port-out process please reach out to the Opsgenie support team at support.atlassian.com and reference this community posting :)

Thank you, that is very helpful. One quick question that this document is not clear on.. If I transfer the twillio number to my own account, will it continue to work with opsgenie until we move to Jira Service Management? or do we need to coordinate the migrations?

@briffle you would be able to switch the settings in Opsgenie so that it continue to works. You can do this prior to the migration to JSM
