How can I send notifications to specific team members based on the tag associated with the alert?

HN

I'd like to have multiple people on call but based on the tag of the alert, different individuals should be looking at addressing the issue.

Something like,

if tag contains 'X' then notify personA/GroupA.

if tag contains 'Y' then notify personB/GroupB.

Ideally, I'd like to have multiple sets of on-call schedules including different team leaders at the same time, with different people being notified based on tags

Hey @HN ,

This is Shashwat from Opsgenie support and here to help! :)

Yes, this can be easily achieved via the Opsgenie routing rules, wherein you can configure multiple routing rules to look at an alert's tag value, and then escalate it via the first/second escalation to notify person A/B configured on the Schedule A/B.

Here's an example screenshot of how these routing rules will look like:

Here's a great blogpost that talks in detail about how routing rules work in Opsgenie:

I hope this helps resolve your concern, please check and let us know. We're happy to help! :)

Best,
Shashwat
