Is there a built-in mechanism for creating UML, bpmn 2.0 diagrams? Or do you need to use third-party services to create them?

No, there's nothing built-in, you'll need one of the diagram apps to do this. Take a look in the marketplace for Smartdraw, Gliffy, Draw.io and so-on.

as @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- already mentioned there is no built-in way to model BPMN processes. But let me add another option to the app list:
