Why am I muted in Google meet when Loom records?

I was using Loom to record a Google Meet call. When I started recording, no one in the meeting could hear me, although they could before I started recording. When I stopped recording, they could hear me again. So, in other words, if I want to use Loom with Google meet, I cannot participate in the conversation except through chat. Is Loom not compatible with Google Meet?

I imagine you might encounter issues if they are both using the same mic!

Okay, but wouldn't that the case for any use of Loom where one is recording a video conference meeting, such as Teams or Zoom?
