Using Loom with WhatsApp Web (Business) on Mac with Chrome

WhatsApp Web likely locks down browser permissions on its tab. This prevents Chrome extensions like Loom from recognizing the active page and accessing your camera.

You can use the Loom desktop app instead of the Chrome extension.

The Desktop app accesses the camera at the system level, bypassing Chrome's per-tab camera lock entirely. This is the most reliable fix.

The easiest fix is switching to the Loom desktop app, as the Chrome extension often gets injected and blocked on specific sites like WhatsApp Web.

If you prefer staying in Chrome, double-check that Camera permissions are allowed under both WhatsApp Web's site settings and the Loom extension settings, and ensure another app isn't hogging the camera. If those don't work, stick with the desktop app, it bypasses browser page restrictions.
