Hi everyone, I’m running into a really frustrating login issue between Atlassian and Loom, and I’m hoping someone here has seen this before.
I already have an Atlassian account using my email address. Because of Atlassian’s “work email” requirement, I ended up switching that account to use Google as the login method.
Now, when I try to sign in to Loom with the same email (gmail), Loom first shows the “work email” message and then redirects me to the Atlassian → Loom login screen. When I enter my email there, it tells me:
“You last logged in with Google.”
It then forces me to continue with Google, with no option to use my email + password instead.
The problem is: When I do try to continue with Google, Loom doesn’t recognize it and tries to make me go through a brand‑new Google signup flow. I don’t want to use Google as my Loom login at all — I just want to log in with my email and password like before, and then merge accounts later if needed. I can see here on my Atlassian account that it does not see my loom account as merged already, so they are clearly not connected yet.
At the moment, every support link or help path just sends me back to the same login loop that I can’t get past. It feels like there’s a missing or broken flow here.
I’ve already tried logging out of Atlassian completely and then logging into Loom again, but the same thing happens: Atlassian knows the email is tied to a Google login, but Loom doesn’t recognize that I already had a Loom account set up without google and should have the option to use my password instead.
Has anyone dealt with this or found a workaround? Any help would be appreciated.
That sounds very frustrating- I'm sorry to hear this experience!
Here's a workaround for you to get in touch with support without logging in:
