Is there an option to replace the original audio in a recorded video with a new recording? while playing the video recording?
I am recording training videos via Screenshare, and if there are background disturbances, I would like to replace the entire audio with a new audio recording, overlapping recording.
Could you please let me know if this feature is available?
Today, Loom does not offer a way to edit audio natively within Atlassian products (for example, screen/video recording embedded in products like Loom for Atlassian or recordings used in training within the ecosystem); there is no simple native "completely replace the original audio with a new narration while the video plays" feature directly within the Atlassian interface itself.
The scenario you described (“redoing” the entire narration of an already recorded training video, over the existing video) is typically handled like this:
Export the recorded video Download the video file (MP4 or similar) from the platform where it was recorded/stored.
Edit in video editing software Use an editing tool (free or paid) that allows you to:
Silence/remove the original audio track.
Record a new narration while the video is playing (voice-over).
Examples of tools that do this: Camtasia, ScreenFlow, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or even simpler tools like Clipchamp, CapCut Desktop, etc.
Upload the new video After editing, export the new video file with the replaced audio and upload it again to where you use it (Confluence, Jira, LMS, etc.).
In summary: Within Atlassian products, there is currently no native button/workflow to “re-record only the audio” while keeping the same video. The supported way is to edit externally (in a video editor) and then replace the video file wherever it is published.
