1. Can I have the text for my transcript overlaid on top of the video so that it appears when the video is played, or do I have to use whatever platform editor to add transcript on top (e.g. CapCut for a Tik Tok)?
2. If a word in the transcript is misspelled, is the correct way to correct the misspelling to select and replace the word? I created a video about the Claude LLM and Loom spells it "clawed" throughout the transcript. A search and replace feature would be nice.
Thanks.
These are useful features for anyone working with video transcripts and captions, especially when moving content between tools like Loom and CapCut.
You can add the transcript as on-screen captions, but the exact options depend on the platform or editor you’re using. CapCut is a convenient option for styling and placing captions directly on the video.
Yes, you can usually select and replace a misspelled word. A search-and-replace feature would make fixing repeated transcript errors much faster.

Loom does support closed captions — your transcript automatically generates them, and viewers can toggle captions on/off using the CC button in the Loom player. However, these are player-side captions, not "burned in" to the video itself.
If you need hardcoded/burned-in subtitles (like for TikTok or Shorts where the platform player doesn't support external caption tracks), you'd need to export the video from Loom and use an editor like CapCut, as you mentioned. Loom doesn't have a native "burn captions into video" feature at this time.
