I am using free LOOM to make videos for my college class and have student make video responses in class. I really love the app.
My question (that I could not find an answer to on your website), is about privacy and AI: does LOOM allow AI to scrape this video content and use it in their LLM? If so, where is this policy located? If not, how does it provide a secure wall against AI scraping of user content?
Thank you - LC
Hey @Lisa Costello ,
I'm glad to hear positive feedback about the app/Loom :)
I also use it regularly, and it saved me sooo much time.
Regarding AI and policies, there's an FAQ at the end of this page:
How is my data used?
OpenAI receives transcript data as text files in order to generate titles and summaries. OpenAI does not receive full videos or audio.
We only send data to trusted third-party systems that are subject to strict privacy and security controls. Our third-party sub-processors are subject to appropriate agreements with Loom and/or its Users to secure and protect the confidentiality of data. Furthermore, we have executed DPAs with our subprocessors.
More details and Loom's list of sub-processors can be found here. Loom's AI Terms can be found here.
All policies and statements about AI, LLMs, etc. can be found at Atlassian's Trust Center.
Generally speaking, Loom doesn't (and shouldn't) allow AI to "scrape" your video content for general LLM training.
Now, I'm not sure if there's any specific statement (or policy) that actually provides this info. You could reach out to Atlassian Support and ask them if they can do an additional check and provide specific links 👀
Apart from that, you can also use this channel: Need help with your Loom account? Here’s how to contact Support (and get help faster)
Cheers,
Tobi
