Can't record a video and can't turn on microphone or camera

Hello:

Here's a video describing my problem. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi @Ann Ward ,

A few things you can check:

  1. Try another browser and an incognito/private window with no extensions enabled.

  2. Confirm browser permissions for the site: Camera and Microphone are set to “Allow” and not “Blocked”.

  3. Check your operating system privacy settings to ensure Chrome/Edge/Firefox is allowed to use the camera and microphone.

  4. Close other apps that might be using the camera (Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc.) and try again.

  5. Test your camera/mic on another site (e.g. a Meet/Zoom test) to confirm they work outside Loom.

Oh yeah, extensions (such as content blockers) can be an issue even with simple Confluence/apps features.

Hi @Ann Ward 

I could not replicate the behavior... What I'd do as a first line of defense:

  • Update browser and the extension.
  • Check system settings to ensure both the browser and Loom have access to microphone and camera.
