What is a Community Champion?

A Community Champion is an Atlassian Community member who actively helps others succeed. You don't need to be an expert — you just need to enjoy sharing what you've learned and want to help others thrive.

The Loom group is a great place to contribute by:

• Answering questions in the Loom | Atlassian Community — helping fellow users troubleshoot, discover features, and get unstuck

• Sharing workflows and tips — writing articles about how you use Loom in real work

• Joining Loom-focused events — participating in or speaking at Atlassian Community Events, Community-Led Classes, webinars, or Atlassian Live sessions that feature Loom

• Giving product feedback — sharing your honest experience, ideas, and feature requests that help shape Loom's future

• Mentoring newer users — welcoming newcomers, pointing them to resources, and modeling what a helpful community looks like

Your step-by-step path to becoming a Community Champion

You don't need to apply on day one. Here's how to build your way up:

Step 1: Create your Community profile
If you haven't already, https://community.atlassian.com/ and set up your profile. Join the Loom | Atlassian Community to start seeing what's happening.

Step 2: Start contributing
The best way to begin is simply to help. Pick a question you know the answer to and reply. Share a tip you've discovered. Write a short post about a Loom workflow that saves your team time. Every contribution earns you points and visibility.

Here's how the community journey works:

• I'm New Here → Make your first 3 posts to become a Member

• Member → Get 5 likes/upvotes on your content to become a Contributor (and unlock article writing + access to the private Contributors group)

• Contributor → Reach Rising Star by getting 5 accepted answers, OR publishing 1 article with 20 likes, OR starting 5 discussions with 20 likes

• Rising Star → Complete the Rising Star Bootcamp and you'll be on your way to becoming a Community Champion! Pro-tip: To be eligible to join the Atlassian Champions program, you must have at least 90 days of ongoing activity on the forums.

Step 3: Build your Loom skills
Take the free Get the Most out of Loom learning path on Atlassian University. Then pass the short, open-book assessment to earn your Loom Fundamentals credential — it's free, unproctored, and a great way to show what you know.

Step 4: Apply to become a Champion
Once you've reached Rising Star and have been actively contributing to the forum for 90+ days, head to Become an Atlassian Champion | Atlassian Community and submit your application. You'll hear back from a Champion Program Manager shortly after.
