How marketing teams can make teamwork more human, clear, and effective with Loom

Marketing team needs to move fast, especially if you're a one team person, or if your team take care of different aspects of a business. There are several stakeholders that makes part of the production process, delivery and even after that, after analyzing results, and enhancing the lifecycle. That's a short explanation of what an endless life of a marketer looks like.

And what the heck has Loom to do with it?

To make my point I wanted to share the content of the presentation the Korean Champion @Hye-Jin Kim did at the Atlassian Community event in Madrid last year, which make me feel very related to her duties, and the way she and her team deliver Loom for their marketing workflow.

The role of the tools from the Teamwork Collection

The Teamwork Collection has Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo included. In this use case Hye-Jin introduced, there are two singled out that star this story, especially the second one:

  • Confluence: Which works as the single source of truth to organize campaigns, manage tasks, and share documentation.

  • Loom: The main star here, that acts as the video async video communication layer making it easier, faster, and more personal. Suiting and respecting every team member schedule.

The Challenge: Marketing teams needs context, not just tasks

Besides having that infamous to-do list, we, the marketers, need further briefing information to align the needs with the possible outcomes. We need to know why a campaign matters, what's the need behind it, we need feedback, communicate it to other team members.

Here's were Loom get into play to add more value to Hye-Jin's team at Open Source Consulting.

The Solution: Loom as the context provider

As early adopters, the team started using Loom to bring more context over the information reflected on Confluence. Complementing the information, and allowing the teams to advance faster and more effectively.

With Loom now it was possible to add short, clear video explanations directly into their marketing workflows, without extra work adopting the tool.

Why is Loom especially useful for marketing teams?

It's important to consider that Loom it's not just a recording tool, and as we can see, it can become a practical way to improve collaboration, alignment and productivity, bringing benefits such as:

  • Making feedback clearer and faster to deliver.
  • Forget about that meeting could be an email... well, those are now a Loom.
  • It helps teams to scale knowledge

If you want to get into the details of this presentation, take a look at the video recording below.

If you have any doubts about how her team uses it, I think she wouldn't have any problems on answering. You can also contact me to learn how we use it at Deiser/Devoteam. We'll be happy to answer!

I completely agree! (although I can't watch this video 🫣)

Loom has become incredibly useful for marketing teams, especially when managing multiple stakeholders, fast-moving campaigns, and async collaboration across different schedules and regions.

Thanks for sharing the insight!  @Huwen Arnone _Deiser_Devoteam_
