We different instances of Jira and I cannot see Projects from instance to another. Is there a way to link or view on a board?

Not in Jira. You would need to create a webpage where you would logon to each Jira and pull the data/dashboard to display. There might be something in the marketplace that would do that, but I doubt it.

Hi @Mohammed Patel ,

Thanks for posting your question here, I am Dhiren from the Exalate Team.

I would recommend you to use an issue sync solution like Exalate in this case.

Exalate works on a decentralized architecture and offers you a completely bi-directional sync and you can sync issues from different projects which are a part of a completely different instance.

We offer a low code mode for business users, and also a script mode which uses groovy scripting for ultimate control.

Do let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks, Dhiren

 Hi @Mohammed Patel

as colleagues mentioned there might be different aproaches

- synchronisation, where Backbone, Exalate, issuesync and others might be of help

- composing a confluence page and bringing data from different instances - if you just need kind of overall report

- or solutions like Watchtower  that will allow you to work on one Agile board in one instance seamlessly with issues from remote instances.

Let me know if you would be interested in Watchtower demo - and we can schedule that

Thanks

Andrey

Hi @Mohammed Patel

As colleagues from Backbone and Exalate already mentioned, there are a few synchronization apps that help you achieve that.

I can recommend a free plugin developed by my team, called Issue Sync Pro.

It bridges the gap between different instances of Jira, allowing you to seamlessly view, manage, and collaborate on issues across instances in a unified way.
Once you establish the connection between Jira4 and Jira9, our plugin will automatically synchronize issues between the two instances based on your configuration copying over fields, comments, attachments, or statuses. When an issue is created, updated, or modified in one instance (e.g., Jira4), the changes will be reflected in the other instance (e.g., Jira9) and vice versa.
The link between the issues and the remote issue key will be also visible on the dedicated panel on the issue view.

If that sounds interesting, feel free to check the app or book a free demo!
Cheers,
Kasia

Hi @Mohammed Patel,

welcome in the Community.

That's a common scenario - and @Joe Pitt is right that there is no native way to do so.

However, there are plenty of marketplace app solutions out there for such a use case. I'd suggest to either look into:

  • issue synchronization
Issue Sync apps allow you to synchronize your issues from the various instance into one instance where you can utilize the usual Jira functionality to get an overview across multiple projects.
Please note that I'm working for the team behind Backbone Issue Sync. We concentrate on making issue synchronization as simple as possible.
  • Cross-instance dashboards
There are also multiple dashboard apps in the Atlassian Marketplace. I know that Appfire's Dashboard Hub supports cross-instance dashboards, maybe others as well.

Hope that helps to get started,
Matthias.
