Automation doesn't trigger

Olof Nysten

I have several automations in a onboarding poroject that should trigger for example 30 days after the person has started his/her employment. The automation runs daily and checks if any person has Start Date 30 days ago, but the automation won't trigger. What am I doing wrong? I have Swedish settings but I think you could guess what it means.

Thanks in advance!

Is it not "triggering" or is it not meeting the condition? What does Audit log tell you?

It says "No actions performed" even when there are issues that qualify for the automation.

but if you click on the more details what info is provided? I expect a condition is not passing

I dug a little deeper in this and found the checkbox "Only include issues that have changed since the last time this rule executed". It was checked on all automations. I will uncheck it and see if it helps.

You should be careful with the checkbox depending on the details of your automation you could end up duplicating your actions unnecessarily. Did you look at the details of the log if so could you share it here?

I looked at the details. It only shows "No actions performed". It makes sense since if the automation only runs once per issue and the issue could be created a month before it should be handled by the rule it will never be handled. Another way to keep the checkbox could be to put the "startdate equals 5 days from now" in the JQL query, but as this project never will have more than 15 active issues I don't think it's worth the time to change all the automations.

I don't think duplicating the actions will be a problem as it runs once per day and checks for issues with the smartvalue "stardate" 5 days from now.

But thanks for your answers and your time.
