Can we restrict edit stories for a particular release ?

We want to restrict edit access for stories for a particular release in Jira. How can achieve this. Do we need any plugin for this ?

It can be done in Jira without a plugin.  The method I advocate for here is with Workflow Properties.  These Properties can prevent users from making changes to issues specifically when issues exist in a specific status.  This would require that these specific issues exist be in the status where this property is set.  Setting a workflow property link in that example would restrict users from editing issues unless they are in the group defined there.   This can prevent users from editing these issues, even if they have the permission to edit issues in that project.
