Hello Atlassian Team,
We are currently using Jira Data Center because Jira Cloud does not provide a native option to synchronize users directly from our on-premises Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Since Jira Data Center is planned to reach end of life in March 2029, we would like clarification on the following:
After 2029, will there be a supported option in Jira Cloud to synchronize users from on-premises AD DS (without relying on third-party solutions)? even I coundnt find a third party also,
If not, what is the recommended long-term strategy for organizations like ours that depend on direct AD DS integration for user management?
We are trying to plan ahead and want to avoid major disruptions to our authentication and user provisioning setup.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Best regards,
What is keeping you from setting up an Azure AD and replicating your on premise one there? That would allow you to provision through Atlassian Guard.
I'm wondering about the reason(s) that would prevent you from adopting this. Having a direct connection between the Atlassian Cloud and your on premise AD seems a major security issue.
Hello @Bekuretsion Tadios
You can find the supported platforms for integraton here - https://support.atlassian.com/provisioning-users/docs/supported-identity-providers
Plan to either migrate to any of the supported platforms or you can raise a feature request at support.atlassian.com
Thanks,
Pramodh
