unable to view my issue on backlog

We are creating issues on our project , but our backlog seems to be empty.

What does your board filter say?

there are no filters on the board

Hmm.

I suspect you might be looking at the wrong thing then.  Can you explain exactly where you are looking for the backlog and what type of board it is?  Scrum, Kanban or Core?

Kanban board - i assume when i add an issue and assign it to the project it should show up in the backlog, thats how its always worked in the past.

Ok, good, yes, it almost certainly is the workflow and backlog.

You need to make sure the initial status in your workflow is in the backlog column in the board settings.
