trying to configure "email to Jira Ticket", but getting an error when I test "Mail Handler"

Hi,
I've configured the OAuth2.0 authentication and an incoming mail server which utilizes the OAuth2.0 authentication. when I test connection for both of these, i'm able to successfully establish the connection. However, when I configured a 'Mail Handler' and test the connection, its throwing the following exception. will you please assist?
Messaging Exception in service 'com.atlassian.jira.service.services.mail.MailFetcherService$MessageProviderImpl' when getting mail: NM3 BAD User is authenticated but not connected.javax.mail.MessagingException: NM3 BAD User is authenticated but not connected.
The connection is no longer open, messages marked as deleted will not be purged from the remote server: outlook.office365.com until the next run.
