Hello, we need to change the initials of a user's name, because there are 2 people with the same initials "MM" as agents (team members) within the same project and that causes confusion. Our Jira is fed by the contacts in our external Google server, in which the initials have already been modified, becoming FM, but in Jira it is still displayed as MM.
Is there any way to modify those initials in Jira?
Do u have Google's SSO setup or do you just import the users into your system?
If you've setup saml/sso then verify the attributes that are mapped and see those values in the Google user.
With SSO the attributes are periodically updated and will get overwritten e even if you manually update them only in Atlassian.
Hi @Jehan BhathenaI finally found some documentation and was able to guide the agent to change his initials from his user account by going to https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/profile-and-visibility where he was able to modify his avatar by entering his initials correctly, and he was even able to change the background color. Now the problem is that his full name is still listed and he cannot modify it.
We work with G-suite and we use Gmail emails at the company level, so to add a new person to Jira, we wait for a corporate account to be created for that person, then we search for it in the user section and when it appears we give them access to the different groups and projects. We have modified the user's name in Google, but I understand that once that user is created in Jira, the tool no longer searches for changes to see if any data has changed or is there a way to force that action?

https://support.atlassian.com/provisioning-users/docs/manage-g-suite-user-syncing/#Manually-sync-users as per this they sync every 4 hours, would suggest you open a support ticket to get Atlassian's inputs into this.

I don´t think that is working that way then because this was changed a few days ago, and the agent still with the same incorrect name. But i will look into it.
Muchas gracias!
