Configured request type has too many visible required fields

Hi @Sunoop Puthur ,

Create a separated request type which you do not show on your portal. Make sure that the workflow is the same as your most used issuetype. This is not mandatory but makes it easier to switch the issuetype/request when you want to categorize your incoming requests.

On the request you only need to have the fields:

  • summary (=subject of the email)
  • description (=body of the email)
  • attachment (=attachments of the email)

In https://<yoursite>.atlassian.net/jira/servicedesk/projects/PCS/settings/email you can configure your custom email address, but also connect the request to the email.

Go to the three dots in the top right corner > Configure email requests > select the just created request and click on save.

@Sunoop Puthur The error you are getting is because the request type you have configured for email has two many required fields.  You need to edit the request type and only have summary and description as required or just summary.
