integrate SendGrid with Jira ServiceDesk

IT Web accounts
July 25, 2018

Hello,

We would like to use SendGrid to send out the email notifications from Jira Service Desk. We have preferred 'sendgrid' for this.

Is there ways / steps to integrate SendGrid with Jira? Kindly suggest us.

You can definitely do this! SendGrid provides an SMTP relay that's not any more work to configure than a regular SMTP server. From SendGrid's documentation:

  • Change your SMTP username and password to your SendGrid credentials
  • Set the server host name to smtp.sendgrid.net
  • Use ports 25 or 587 for plain/TLS connections and port 465 for SSL connections

On the Jira side of things, you just need to plug those details in for the outgoing mail server. Check out our documentation for configuring SMTP in Jira here.

Cheers,
Daniel
