change custom field design in edit/create screen

Custom fields have  a different presentation than system fields

I am tweaking our screens to make them more easy to read and I wonder why it's possible to change the way custom fields are shown on JIRA screens

Risk a custom field with wiki style renderer but it should be on top instead to the left but I cannot find any property / setting which allows to change the behaviour or design of the screens.

You can not change field desing out of the box. You can set the order, in which custom fields are shown in the screen, or define a renderer (text renderer, wiki renderer) and nothing more.
