Workflow Status Modification

I am trying to modify the statuses in my workflow and I cannot see the default statuses to add to the workflow or the issue attributes to add new statuses. Can anyone help?

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

Are you a Jira admin, or are you a project admin? If you only have project admin permissions you will only be able to see statuses that have already been defined on your instance, you will not be able to add any new statuses.
