Why don't keyboard shortcuts work in my JIRA Project?

My organization has several projects, which all have keyboard shortcuts enabled. I created a new project recently (which seems to be a different type of project, since it is a "next-gen" project), but am unable to use keyboard shortcuts.

I've clicked around through the project settings but have been unable to find anything that should be toggled on. Please help!

Hi Eric,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
We have two bugs related to shortcut for the new issue view, that it's the default view for next-gen projects.
One is related to the "L" for labels and the other the "gg" or ".":

If none of this is related to the issue you are facing, can you please let us know the shortcuts that are not working? Then you can test here and open a bug for other shortcuts.
