Why do i have to have User Agent/Customer/User access admin roles to have all rights?

Aleksander Bračko November 11, 2024

As the question implies 'Why do i have to have User Agent/Customer/User access admin roles to have all rights?'

Why is it not enough for me to have just User access admin and Admin role under project to have full control over permissions about customers/agents etc....i'm using up an agent license just to be able to configure stuff.

Hi @Aleksander Bračko

If you are granted the admin role on a JSM project or admin permissions based on your user in the permission scheme, you can administrator a JSM project.

You are just not able to view the project fromt-end (so queues, work on issues etc..)

This all applies on a non-free subscription.

On free subscription you can't define the permissions like this.

I understand that...what i'm specifically having issues with is, that even with all the admin roles i have, i'm not able to add another agent to a JSM project if I myself am not also an agent. Same goes for Customers

As soon as i remove myself as an agent I don't have an option to add another agent with all the super rights I have...which is totally weird. So i have to add/remove myself as an agent each time for this operation.

HI @Aleksander Bračko

This is due to the fact you are running on the free tier option.

To have the options you want, you need to switch to a paid subscription.

Hello @Aleksander Bračko ,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

I think simillar question was already discussed in this topic - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/Do-Org-Admins-have-to-be-Agents-in-JSM/qaq-p/2632980

Well that doesn't seem to work in my case. As soon as i remove the User agent role i loose almost all privileges in the JSM.
