Why am I not seeing the Config option in the new Jira view?

I have the new Jira view turned on and no option to configure.  Neither the issue menu nor the Jira settings page have the options available for me to configure the view.

Hello @Louis_Mancuso

Sure, I'm glad to help you.

The Issue layout menu created to configure the fields in the issue view is a relatively new feature added only for JIRA Software and JIRA Core projects (Both Next-gen and Classic).

That being said, this option was not be implemented yet in JIRA Service Desk projects, although we have a feature request opened to achieve this: 

Enable Issue Layout for JIRA Service Desk

Can you please confirm if the project you are not being able to see this option is a Service Desk project?  If that's the case, feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

If that's not the case, could you please provide us how the project was created and if you are also not able to access that option by navigating to Project Settings > Issue Layout?

Thanks for your quick answer.  It makes perfect sense now.  My personal instance is not running Service Desk and the project that is having the issue is in fact a Service Desk project.

That makes me feel a bit better.  I am assuming then that ability to switch to the old view will remain until the Issue Layout has been enabled for Service Desk.

Indeed, we will not remove the Old UI until we get a consistent new issue view that can provide our customers with all their required functionalities, and the ability to configure the issue layout is definitely a blocker for it.

I don't fully get right what you mean by 'view', maybe you're trying to mention Screen?

In any case, in order to modify screens you need to do it through the project configuration.

Edit: Unfortunately I didn't saw it was for Jira Cloud, my knowledge here is very limited!

I have 2 instances of Jira Cloud.  One has a way to configure the New Jira issue view, the other does not.  Below is how it should be working on both instances with the New Jira Issue View enabled.
