When using Service Request with Approvals the description on the request disappears

When using the Service request with Approvalsthe description of the request disappears when comments are added when the approver is trying to understand what the requests is so cannot see the detailed description. Are there any workarounds for this

When you look at the settings of the Request types,
is there the field "description" set up as a field on the screen?
