What triggers breached()

Juan Cuevas May 29, 2024

Hi! I know that breached() "filters out issues whose last SLA cycle has failed to meet its target goal" but my question here is:

  • If I have multiple SLAs, is breached() triggered as soon as any of the SLAs is breached?
  • Doing an export, I see a couple of issues with 2 values under breached(), this means that I will get a boolean value per breached SLA?

Thank you in advance!

@Juan Cuevas -

Welcome to the community.  Can you provide more clarification on your ask?  Where are you doing the export?

It is my understanding the Breached condition is per each specific SLA rule that you have configured.

Please advise, so we can assist you further.

Hi Joseph!! Thank you for your response :)

Currently my team is exporting JIRA information into a local BD so we can use Tableau as a metric dashboard. Basically the metric we want to get is: How many tickets have breached their SLA?

Our current SLA config is as follows:

  • We have several SLAs, but we have a rule where one of all of our SLAs is assigned to a ticket based on the contact reason (dropdown field) that a client selects.
  • We also have a default SLA that also is automatically assigned to all tickets (time to first response)

My question here is there a way to know what SLA triggered the TRUE value for breached()?? And if a ticket has 2 values for breached(), what does it mean?

TIA

Can you provide how are your team is using to export the data from JSM as an input to your local DB? (Using JSM report dashboard or via JQL?)

Best, Joseph

@Juan Cuevas -

If you are using a third party add-on for the extraction, you will need to contact the vendor of the add-on for further technical assistance on this matter - https://appfire.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/11/user/login?destination=portal%2F11

Sorry I was not able to give you the solution that will fixed the problem.  However, if you find my suggestions have helped you, please click on the "Accept answer" when you have a chance, so others with similar asks can see the posting properly.
