View Setting don't stick when I log out?

Scenario:

Our GOT project has fields in the main body of the issuetype (Story and Sub-Task.)

The user uses the "View Settings" panel to filter down the fields that show on the Right Side using the "View Settings."  However, when he logs out and comes back into JIRA, his "View Settings" do not save to his last setting.

Is this a normal behavior, or is there a way to get the "View Settings" to stick by the user?

Can you provide an example on where this is done, is the in the view section of the JSM project?

Do other users have the same?
