User Picker field shows "Username" instead of "Display Name"

Version: 4.10.0

Installation Type: Data Centre

Problem Statement: This is a known bug where USername is displayed for Custom USer pickers fields on Create and Edit Screen. Is there a workaround for the same. I also know it has been fixed in 8.12.0 version of Jira. I don't have any option to upgrade the application immediately. 

Is there a workaround available?
