Upgrade path for Jira Service desk 4.2.5

Hi

These are the apps I have installed

Software - 8.2.5

Service Desk - 4.2.5

I am planning to upgrade Service Desk to 4.2.6, but do I need to upgrade software to 8.2.6 as well? If so how would my upgrade path look like and how would I start to upgrade the Software app?

Joe,

In order to upgrade Jira Service Desk to 8.2.6, you need to update Jira software as well. I would upgrade Jira Software first. https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/upgrading-jira-server-installer-938846937.html

Once you've done that, you can update Jira Service desk with no additional downtime.
