Unable to upload files DATA REDUCTION CAPACITY EXHAUSTION, missing Token

Deleted user August 27, 2020

Hello Jira community,

Would be a great help to share your insight on the below error message as trying to upload files in a Jira project, what is the cause of this error message?

What can be done to manage to upload the files?

Error Message:

''DATA REDUCTION LIGHT DEFRAG DECIDED DUE TO CAPACITY EXHAUSTION 'file name' was not uploaded

Jira could not attach the file as there was a missing token. Please try attaching the file again.''

Thanks a bundle,

Missing token happens most often when a session has timed-out.

If, for example, I go to an upload process and give it a file, but don't finish the process, then hibernate my laptop and wander off to make tea and do some shopping, when I come back and resume, then I'll get that error when I click "upload".

thanks a bunch for your answer, so if there was no wandering off at all, than this issue can be caused by a slow VPN or internet connection?

It might be.  I have certainly seen it a couple of times after breaking and restarting a VPN connection and I think possibly after an internet drop.
