Unable to connect bot to jira service management

Hi,

When I go to add a virtual agent I am prompted for the project name which is fine, I can enter that.  However on the next question it asks to choose a default request type and it does not let me select anything.  When I do select it, it just blanks out the request type and I am forced to select again to no avail.  Does anyone have any clue how I can get this virtual agent to work properly?

When I do select the request type I just get at the bottom of the screen :

Could not save changes an unknown error occurred.

Hi @Michael Mahoney welcome to the community,

Are you adding the virtual agent via Slack? Have you been able to set up the normal Jira assist (manual or automatic ticket creation). If you're able to connect assist from a channel to the project you can always change it to Virtual agent from automatic/manual from within the project (project settings > channels & self-service > chat)

No I am in the agent studio and trying to create a virtual agent.  I tried to get a screenshot in, but I could not paste it.

I think the issue is because I cannot create a request type with no required fields.  So it seems I am stuck, at least until I can figure out how to create a request type with no required fields. Any Suggestions?

So I figured out how to make a request type with no required fields, but the problem still exists even after selecting the request type that does not have a required field.  Now I am really stuck and do not know where to even look for answers.

@Michael Mahoney when you click the request type drop down it doesn't present any options?

From the project the request type is in are you able to create issues/work items using the that request type? That may provide some error messages that can help guide you

From the virtual agent identity page I would make sure the correct project is linked as well above the default request type.

No I am getting the request types, its when I select the request type that the unknown error occurs.  If you look at the sceenshot above you can see.
