Starting a new JIRA ?

Michael Prewitt
April 17, 2019

I took a position with a new company and brought Jira along with me. I had a copy of a previous backup on my machine to demo the software for my boss . I was given the go ahead to start the system at my new company but I cannot get the old Jira settings and such to go away. Is there a way to do a reboot of the software to start with a clean slate?

Hi Michael and welcome to Atlassian Community!

As per I could understand, you had a backup from your previous company, then created a new Jira instance and made the import with this backup, now you want to wipe this instance to start creating projects and adding users from your new company, is that correct?

If so, as Jira does not have an option to wipe existing settings, you can create a new Jira instance (trial) with only you as a user and don't create any project, then create a backup from this blank instance and import to your current Jira instance.

Hope this helps!
