Smart Values in Automation Generated Comment Not Displaying

Hello,
I am new to the automation features. I am trying to create a rule that will generate a comment using {{reporter.displayName}}. I am basically trying to recreate the example here. However, when the rule generates the comment it always returns the following.
What am I doing wrong? The rest of the comment is not important and is all normal text.
