I have set up an Automation that transitions an emailed request to Waiting for Approval and can auto-assign the Approver to a single user. I need to be able to have the approval notice go out to a group of <10 people, but I only need a single approval from one of these 10 users.
How do I get a single approval from one user, where the approval notice needs to be sent to multiple users?
Hi Jason - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Just a clarification - can any of the 10 users be the approver? Or only the ONE person can be the approver and the rest just need a notification?
If the first, then put all 10 users in the Approvers field and have the approval in the workflow be setup to just need one person to approve.
If the second, then you can create a custom user field and put the others in there - something like Stakeholders or along those lines. Then create an automation rule to send an email to them when the the Approvers field is populated or when the work item transitions to that status.
Hi John,
Thank you for your response. Any of the 10 can be approvers. I was able to get the necessary workflow with this previous post. I just didn't have access to the workflow used even though I was an administrator of the Space. I worked with the overall Jira Admins and had the Approval workflows updated to only need 1 approver.
I truly appreciate your help!
Solved: Multiple approvers, one approval needed
