We have been cutting and pasting pieces of excel data into a Jira text field. The resulting field then contains a tab delimited version of the excel cells. This is script readable and we can check it for values.
When I attempted to do the same in a portal form to same field it somehow adds an image of the excel piece as an attached image.
Is this a behaviour we can control? Is it a browser thing?
If we bounce the snippet through a text editor it works as text again.
