Hi,

I understand that you are looking to understand if you can run Jira server products on vmWare's Pivotal Cloud Foundary.  I must admit that I am not familiar with this particular service.  From researching this, it looks like it might be possible, but I should note that this is not something that Atlassian has tested for.

I recommend checking out our Jira Server supported platforms documentation. It explains all the things that Jira server will need in order to run as expected.  So long as this environment can provide a supported Linux or Windows environment that can run either an Oracle or OpenJDK JVM, and you can connect Jira to a supported database version listed in that document, that should really be the major pain points to check for when trying to setup Jira on any platform.

While we have not been able to test out running Jira server on all the potential cloud platforms, we have worked to ensure that Jira server (and data center) can be supported on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

So in short, I believe the answer is that you can.  However we have not explicitly tested against that system.  If you can run a docker there, then that might be one way to make sure you can run Jira server products there.  Or if that platform provides you a linux platform with a supported JVM versions and database version, you should be able to make this work.

Please let me know if you have any concerns about this.

Andy
