Hi,

We're looking to move our JIRA Service Desk/Software instance to Windows and SQL Server as that's where our skills in house are based. I remember when originally looking into this that Atlassian recommended not using SQL Server. I can no longer find that anywhere within the platform recommendations. So I was wondering whether this was still the case? I can see that they do recommend Postgres, but there doesn't appear to be anything that says SQL Server will cause performance issues.

So my question is does anyone on here use SQL Server & Windows and would recommend it? I'd just like to ensure there are no performance issues associated with using this stack prior to us going ahead.

Thanks,

Hollie

It's been a long time since Atlassian actively recommended moving off SQL server, and even then it was only in certain circumstances.

It is not the first database that would be recommended if you had no preference at all, but the advice now is very much "use what you are most familiar with / best skilled up for".

So, I think you've answered your own question with "our skills in house".  Use MS-SQL!
