Restricting Form Addition and Editing Based on User Groups

Hi Atlassian Community,

I’m working on setting up a Jira project and I need to configure permissions related to forms. Here’s the scenario I’m dealing with:

• Groups: I have two groups, Group A and Group B.
• Forms: There are 4 different forms that currently all the users can add and edit under issues.

Requirement:

I want to restrict the ability to add and edit these forms based on user groups. Specifically:

• Group A should have permissions to add and edit all forms.
• Group B should have restricted permissions, potentially only to add and edit certain forms or none at all.

Questions:

1. What’s the best approach to configure these permissions in Jira?
2. Are there specific Jira permissions or plugins that would allow me to achieve this level of control?
3. How can I ensure that the permissions are enforced consistently and securely?

Any guidance or suggestions on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated!

We have the LOCK FORM option that would only allow a Project Admins to edit the submitted form, however we do have a feature request: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-13160 to allow for a group/user picker for more granularity.

Is there any way you can restrict editing based on the status of a request? For example, lock editing in all statuses, unless it goes into "Additional information required"?
