Request on behalf of user

When ever any user tries to raise request in jira the field Request on behalf of user with user name appears, how same user dept name will appear automatically as his name appears.

Hi Sarmad, have you tried cascading fields?

sorry dear but not satisfied with this. i need by default dept name appearing in customer portal.

So what you want is for the department to be auto populated based on the user who raises the request? Have you tried scripted fields?

If you are using Scriptrunner for Jira, you can either add a scripted field or a post function. 

Alternatively you can use an external application (Automation for Jira perhaps) that will do this for you.
