Remove a customer from a project without deleting its user

Brandon Torres Romero August 18, 2023

hi team
I'm looking to remove a client's access to "project A" so they can no longer create an issue (ticket). This user has access as "people", you have access as "customer". The thing is that I don't want to delete his profile since I have different projects and I want to migrate it from "Project A" to "Project B", the user must be the same but he must no longer have access to create tickets in "Project A", only in "project B". I can't find any option to remove your access from "project A"user to delete.png

Hi @Brandon Torres Romero ,

In project A, navigate to 'Project Settings' --> 'People'. Find the customer in the list and remove the 'Service Desk Customer' role from that profile. That will remove the users access from Project A but keep it's profile.

Best regards,

Kris

Hi @Brandon Torres Romero ,

in the User Administration tab you get the option to view Jira Service Management customers, in that UI you have the option to Migrate User as Atlassian User.

https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/migrate-a-portal-only-customer-to-atlassian-account/

Once that is done you can revoke that users Customer access without deleting the User.
